A father who has swinging his baby from floor 15 in Algiers was arrested

News24xx.com - An Algerian man was sentenced to two years in prison for swinging a baby outside the window of a 15th floor apartment to get sign likes on Facebook. The man put a picture of himself with holding his baby by gripping the baby's clothes, with the background of the distant cars below:

"1,000 (sign) likes or I'm going to drop this baby."

These uploads aroused anger of citizens, and sparked calls from other social media users to have him arrested for child abuse articles. He was arrested last Sunday, June 18 2017, with charged with endangering the safety of babies, police said.

The boy was swung out of a 15th-floor window of an apartment block in the capital, Algiers, Al Arabiya news website reported.

One of relative the man was denies that the father of that boy having risked his baby's life. He argues, the picture has been changed by social media users, reports Ennahar TV an Algerian private television.

"The picture was taken on a balcony that had a security trellis but was removed by a medsos user," he said as quoted by Ennahar.

The boy's father called on the court to forgive the man, saying he was just joking. However, the judge decided otherwise with the consideration that the picture clearly shows that the child is endangering his life. Articles disseminated in social media about the incident received many angry responses.

Many Algerians cursed the man, and praised the authorities who had arrested him and sentenced him.
